Last week on on Facebook, I found one of my favorite stores in Vincennes called Something Special. After liking their page, I did my normal scroll-through-the-page to see what I missed out on before liking their page. There was a photo of a bracelet that caught my eye. All I knew was that it was called the Humanity Wrap Bracelet…and I had to buy one.
So, what exactly is this bracelet that I was swooning over? It’s a Good Work(s) Make a Difference bracelet.
Good Work(s) Make a Difference partners with various charities and donates 25% of their net profits to good causes. So, by buying a cute new bracelet, you can help Good Work(s) make a difference. You can buy a piece of jewelry and help someone.
The messages on the bracelet are simple but powerful: Good Works • Make a difference • Plant Peace • Live in Unity • Freedom • Accept Diversity • Speak Kindness • Pave the Path • Lead the Way • Be Aware • Give Back • Seek Wisdom • Come Together • Truth • Forgive • Strength • Courage • Dream • Believe • Faith • Sow Love
I have to be honest and tell you that I had no idea what this bracelet stood for when I went into the store to buy it. Once I got there, there was a small description of the organization and how bracelet purchases could help people. I was happy to buy a new bracelet, but even happier to be contributing to something bigger than myself.
“Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” – Howard Thurman via Good Work(s) Facebook page.
What are you going to do today, or this month, or this year or even in this life to make yourself come alive?
