This year, I decided to challenge myself with a 52-week photo project. Wellll…actually two of them…because only one of these projects just wasn’t enough for me. Basically, each of these two flickr groups posts a theme each week. Then, all of the participants interpret the theme.
Here’s the catch: the photo for each week’s theme must be taken that week. You can’t use an old photo. So, it forces you to pick up your camera at least once a week and look at things differently. I find myself constantly looking at things and wondering how I can make them fit into that week’s theme.
My absolute favorite part of these projects is seeing everyone’s different interpretations of the themes. Some people are uber creative and come up with some amazing ideas….and that motivates me to be more creative the next week.
Anyway, here’s my take on week #14.

When I woke up this morning, it was raining…and continued to rain into the afternoon. When I saw raindrops falling in the puddle at the end of my driveway, I thought it’d be good for this week’s theme. And, today is the last day for this week, so I kinda sorta had to take my photo today.

I had a hard time coming up with something for this week’s theme. When we moved into our house, a good portion of our backyard was all gravel. And by gravel, I mean rocks and lots of left-over construction tidbits from the guy who lived here before us. We’ve worked really hard at getting grass to grow back there, and it’s slowly coming along.
